Introduction

Dr. Leyi Zhang has more than 30 years of extensive clinical and teaching experience in rehabilitation medicine. She excels in comprehensive assessment of functional impairments resulting from various injuries, post-operative conditions, and acute or chronic diseases. With therapeutic efficacy as her primary goal, she designs and implements individualized rehabilitation programs. Dr. Zhang is particularly renowned for her expertise in managing complex cases such as post-stroke hemiplegia, premature infants, developmental delays, and cerebral palsy, providing holistic rehabilitation services.

As the founder of "Yile Rehabilitation", Dr. Zhang leads a team of therapists with international educational backgrounds, dedicated to delivering world-class, compassionate, and efficient rehabilitation care that meets global standards without patients needing to travel abroad.

Dr. Zhang holds the position of Chief Physician in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. She graduated from Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University Shanghai Medical College) and possesses rehabilitation physician qualifications certified by the World Health Organization (WHO). She served for over two decades at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital. Later, she established the first rehabilitation program in Shanghai's higher education system at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she held roles as Associate Professor and Director of the Rehabilitation Teaching and Research Section. Subsequently, she played a pivotal role in founding Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center (Shanghai Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital), serving as Chief Physician and Vice President of Medical Affairs. She also led the development of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Shanghai International Medical Center, acting as Chief Rehabilitation Physician and Department Director.

Dr. Zhang has contributed significantly to national rehabilitation continuing education initiatives organized by the Chinese Rehabilitation Medical Association and the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation. She serves as a Rehabilitation Medicine Consultant and Course Instructor at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Rehabilitation under the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Association. Academically, she has co-authored several authoritative texts and university textbooks, including "Practical Rehabilitation Medicine", "Rehabilitation Functional Assessment", and "Rehabilitation Nursing". Her recent publication as chief editor is the "Home Training Guide for Premature Infants".

He received his master’s degree from Beijing Capital University of Physical Education and completed advanced training at the Sports Medicine Department of Peking University Third Hospital. In 2015, he served as a rehabilitation therapist for the Organizing Committee of the World Athletics Championships. From 2016 to 2017, he was assigned to the China National Swimming Team as a strength and rehabilitation coach, preparing athletes for the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest and the 13th National Games of China. During this period, he was responsible for sports injury management and performance enhancement, providing physical therapy for elite athletes. John Chen also holds multiple international and professional certifications, including AOPT (American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), and Mulligan Dynamic Joint Mobilization. He previously served as the physical therapy team leader in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of a private medical institution in Shanghai. He is currently a Committee Member of the Rehabilitation Medicine Branch of the Shanghai Association of Social Medical Institutions and provides rehabilitation consulting services for organizations including FWD China, Wellington College International, and CPA Australia.

Dr. Chen specializes in comprehensive rehabilitation programs to develop personalized training plans for her patients. Her expertise covers rehabilitation for a wide range of conditions, including fractures, joint dislocations, osteoarthritis, cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar muscle strain, rotator cuff injuries, periarthritis humeroscapularis, sports injuries, soft tissue injuries, joint disorders & injuries, tenosynovitis & synovial diseases, stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, peripheral nerve injury, facial paralysis, cerebral palsy, high-risk infants, scoliosis, muscular torticollis, trigger finger, obesity, diabetes, cardiopulmonary dysfunction and more.

Dr. Chen earned her Medical Doctorate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She previously served as an international resident physician at Pitié-Salpetrière Hospital in Paris, France, and has held clinical positions at Ruijin and Xinhua Hospital, both affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Dr. Shimeng Gao holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, USA, and is a licensed physical therapist in California. With the qualification of Pelvic Floor Level I Clinician by Herman & Wallace, Dr. Gao’s specialties include pelvic health and pelvic floor dysfunctions for both genders, orthopedic and wellness care for all ages, guidance for preconception and pregnancy, as well as chronic pain management. She is capable of addressing pelvic health issues such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain/inflammation, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, and sacroiliac joint dysfunction; male pelvic floor dysfunction issues such as chronic pelvic pain syndrome, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence; orthopedic and wellness care issues such as sports injuries, therapeutic yoga for flexibility and stability, and strength training to prevent osteoporosis and joint maintenance; preconception and pregnancy issues such as perineal massage, personalized guidance on labor positions, and pubic symphysis pain; as well as chronic pain issues such as sciatica, herniated disc, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, piriformis syndrome, and chronic neck pain.
