Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation Medicine, also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Dr. Leyi Zhang and her “Enjoy Rehab” team are dedicated to implementing individualized rehabilitation treatment plans and family rehabilitation guidance for adults and children, to maximize patients’ independence in activities of daily living and improve quality of life. Services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychotherapy, and orthosis fabrication. Dr. Zhang and her team have successively won the title of "2020 & 2021 China Brand Doctor Team".

Rehabilitation Physician

Dr. Leyi Zhang is an experienced and WHO-certified rehabilitation physician with over 20 years of clinical and teaching experience. She specializes in the comprehensive assessment of various post-operation dysfunction and injuries, as well as those caused by acute and chronic diseases. By implementing individualized rehab treatment program, the better curative effects can be achieved.   Dr. Zhang is experienced in rehab of premature infants, developmental delay, cerebral palsy and hemiplegic patients of various brain injuries.
Dr. Zhang is the founder of “Enjoy Rehab”. She graduated from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and has worked in Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital for more than 20 years (China). Dr. Zhang has participated in the compilation of multiple monographs and university textbooks including "Practical Rehabilitation Medicine", "Rehabilitation Function Assessment" and "Rehabilitation Nursing" and has published the "Guidance Book for Premature Infant Family Training" as the editor-in-chief in 2020.

Dr. Louise Chen is a physician with a Medical Doctorate and has nearly 10 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation medicine. Dr. Chen specializes in comprehensive rehabilitation programs to develop personalized training plans for her patients. Dr. Chen earned her Medical Doctorate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She previously served as an international resident physician at Pitié-Salpetrière Hospital in Paris, France, and has held clinical positions at Ruijin and Xinhua Hospital, both affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Jingxuan Li has nearly 15 years of experience in sports rehabilitation, specializing in rehabilitation for sports injuries such as muscle strains and joint sprains; correction of spinal conditions, including scoliosis, neck, shoulder, and lower back pain, and postural adjustment; postoperative rehabilitation, such as functional recovery after orthopedic and neurological surgeries; and daily health maintenance, including posture assessment for office workers and pre-exercise warm-up guidance. He has extensive experience in postoperative rehabilitation of lower-limb sports injuries, prehabilitation, and non-surgical treatment, focusing on precise therapy and structured training to help patients recover more quickly.

Jingxuan Li is a rehabilitation therapist certified by the National Health Commission (NHC). He is a fully certified McKenzie Method practitioner (Levels A–D), a Mulligan Concept certified practitioner (Levels A–B), and holds certification in the Schroth Best Practice (SBP) method for scoliosis. He is also certified in the German 3+ Exercise Therapy System, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Levels 1–2, and is a certified specialist in Kinesio Taping (CKTP). Throughout his professional career, he has provided rehabilitation treatment, training support, and sports medical services for numerous professional athletes, as well as rehabilitation consultations and medical services for many public figures.

John Chen

John Chen has 15 years of extensive clinical experience. During this period, he was responsible for sports injury management and performance enhancement, providing physical therapy for elite athletes. John Chen also holds multiple international and professional certifications, including AOPT (American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), and Mulligan Dynamic Joint Mobilization. He previously served as the physical therapy team leader in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of a private medical institution in Shanghai. Dr. Shimeng Gao holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, USA, and is a licensed physical therapist in California. With the qualification of Pelvic Floor Level I Clinician by Herman & Wallace, Dr. Gao’s specialties include pelvic health and pelvic floor dysfunctions for both genders, orthopedic and wellness care for all ages, guidance for preconception and pregnancy, as well as chronic pain management. She is capable of addressing pelvic health issues such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain/inflammation, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, and sacroiliac joint dysfunction; male pelvic floor dysfunction issues such as chronic pelvic pain syndrome, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence; orthopedic and wellness care issues such as sports injuries, therapeutic yoga for flexibility and stability, and strength training to prevent osteoporosis and joint maintenance; preconception and pregnancy issues such as perineal massage, personalized guidance on labor positions, and pubic symphysis pain; as well as chronic pain issues such as sciatica, herniated disc, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, piriformis syndrome, and chronic neck pain.

Monika Kapoor is a foreign-trained sports physiotherapist with about 20 years working experience. She specializes in the treatment of sports related injuries and musculoskeletal injuries like neck and back pain, tennis elbow, and post-surgery rehabilitation of fractures and arthroscopic surgeries. She has also extensive experience in manual therapy, posture and ergonomics, pre- and post-natal rehabilitation, urinary incontinence and Mat Pilates. Monika received her Master’s Degree in Sports Physiotherapy in India. She served as official physiotherapist in White Collar Boxing Shanghai, International Soccer Shanghai, and Athletic Grand Prix in 2014. Kiran Chiu

Kiran is an experienced physiotherapist. He is good at Australian-style manual physiotherapy and functional sports training. Michael Tang is a senior physiotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. He specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of foot and ankle conditions, joint disorders, pain management, and structural correction. He also has extensive experience in sports injury treatment and rehabilitation, covering both acute injuries (such as joint sprains and muscle strains) and chronic conditions (such as degenerative joint disease and muscle-tendon overuse injuries). In addition, he is well-versed in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, and therapeutic exercise training.

Michael Tang graduated with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation program from Shanghai University of Sport and was awarded a second-class scholarship in the joint physiotherapy program with the University of Canberra. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Sports Rehabilitation Medicine at Beijing Sport University. He also completed advanced training at Ruijin Hospital and is a nationally registered physiotherapist. His previous roles include team physician for the National Training Team of the China Golf Association, physiotherapist at Shanghai Sports Orthopedic Hospital, and physiotherapist at a well-known private medical institution in Shanghai. In addition, he is a member of the Shanghai International Marathon rehabilitation advisory team and serves as the lead consultant for the Yangpu District Half Marathon rehabilitation team. His certifications include Mulligan Concepts Mobilization, Maitland Mobilization, MKT Functional Taping, and Vasyli Medical Advanced Therapist.

ZiLi Wang is a Canadian physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience, with a focus on the treatment of orthopedic injuries, concussions and vestibular disorders. He holds a Masters of Physiotherapy from McGill University, Montreal (Canada), where he also served as part of the rehab team for the university varsity soccer team. He holds accreditations in Gunn IMS, dry needling and acupuncture. He also has specialist post-graduate training in concussion and vestibular rehabilitation, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) rehabilitation, spinal manipulations and cranio-sacral therapy. He is experienced in treating both children and adults.

Tingjing Xu is a physiotherapist with 6 years of clinical experience in neurorehabilitation and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of acute and chronic strain. Tingjing does posture assessment to help regulate abnormal posture. Simon Zhao is a nationally Registered Physical Therapist (RPT) in China with nearly ten years of clinical experience. He specializes in post-orthopedic surgery and sports injury rehabilitation, including post-fracture care, post-rotator cuff repair, post-anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, post-meniscal surgery, post-Achilles tendon repair, as well as conditions such as lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner’s knee), rotator cuff–related disorders, chondromalacia patellae, and ankle sprains. He is also proficient in musculoskeletal interventions for scoliosis, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), tendinopathy, and postural dysfunction.

Simon earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Duquesne University in the United States. In 2019, he completed advanced training at Dr. Becker Klinikgruppe rehabilitation centers in Germany, focusing on post-operative orthopedic rehab and sports physical therapy; he also undertook further training at Shanghai East Hospital and has worked at leading orthopedic hospitals and premium private medical institutions in Shanghai. He has provided on-site medical support for major international sporting events, including the Rolex Shanghai Masters, Shanghai Tower Vertical Marathon, and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Softball Tournament.
