Introduction

Linlin Mai is a registered therapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an associate member of Shanghai International Mental Health Association (SIMHA). She has had experience working with adults and children in the UK and in Shanghai.

Given her previous position as a counselor in an international school here in Shanghai, Linlin specializes in seeing children and teenagers. With children from age 3 to 10, she uses Child Centered Play Therapy which is an evidence based, age appropriate therapy method for this particular age group to work through big emotions. For teenagers, they like talking to her because of her non-judgemental attitude and her extensive understanding of the international school environment in Shanghai.

Mai Linlin is a registered psychotherapist with nearly 10 years of rich experience, specializing in various fields such as personal growth, existential issues, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, childhood and intergenerational trauma, interpersonal relationships (family/friends/partners), adolescent troubles, cultural diversity issues, LGBTQ+ support, and work stress management.

 Mai Linlin is certified as a psychotherapist by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China and holds registration with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) (registration number 383755). She holds a master's degree from the University of Nottingham in the UK, majoring in humanistic experiential counseling and psychotherapy practice. She has provided professional psychotherapy services to adults and children in both the UK and Shanghai, demonstrating her excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
