Introduction

Dr. Zhiping Li is the CEO of Parkway China and an Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He is an experienced gastroenterologist and hepatologist with over 30 years' international working experience in the United States and China. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases and pre /post liver transplant care. Dr. Li graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine (China). He later completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at Johns Hopkins Medicine (U.S.). Dr. Li joined Johns Hopkins Medicine as an instructor and rose through the ranks to the Director of Hepatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital (U.S.).  He is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and the European Association for the Study of the Liver.

Professor Chen Tao, PhD, currently serves as the chief physician at the Endoscopy Center of a top-tier hospital in Shanghai. After graduating from Fudan University, he initially worked at Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital, focusing on endoscopic examinations and treatments of gastrointestinal diseases. In 2019, he joined his current hospital, where he brings over 20 years of experience in gastroenterological endoscopy.

Prof. Chen is adept in a broad range of endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, including early cancer detection and polyp removal within the gastrointestinal tract. He specializes in the endoscopic management of submucosal tumors (utilizing techniques such as Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection [ESD], Endoscopic Full-thickness Resection [EFTR], and Submucosal Tunneling Endoscopic Resection [STER]), esophageal motility disorders (including Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy [POEM]), and complex biliary obstructions using Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), drainage, and stenting procedures. He also handles endoscopic dilation and stenting for gastrointestinal obstructions and strictures.

A dedicated scholar and educator, Prof. Chen has studied systematically in gastrointestinal oncology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, enhancing his expertise in cancer research. He has received numerous accolades, including the Shanghai "Medical New Star" award for outstanding young medical talent, grants from the Shanghai Talent Development Fund, and has been included in the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission's Excellence Plan as well as being recognized as a Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader. Prof. Chen holds several prestigious positions in medical societies, including membership in the Big Data Committee of the Chinese Medical Association's Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Branch, the China International Exchange And Promotive Association For Medical And Health Care's Gastroenterology Branch, the Health Exchange And Cooperation Across The Taiwan Straits Association's Gastroenterology Branch, and the Integrative Oncology Branch of the China Anti-Cancer Association.
