Introduction

Dr. Yunlan Xu has nearly 30 years of clinical experience in pediatric orthopedics. Her areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of various congenital and acquired skeletal, joint, and muscular disorders in children (such as developmental dysplasia of the hip, cerebral palsy, torticollis, Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, etc.). She is also highly skilled in the precise management of pediatric fractures and tendon injuries. In addition, Dr. Xu is proficient in the correction and reconstruction of various pediatric hand, foot, and limb deformities, and has extensive experience in treating complex congenital hand and foot abnormalities. She has continually pursued innovation and has pioneered several advanced surgical techniques, including: Thumb reconstruction for "lobster-claw–type" polydactyly; "Grafting" procedures for triphalangeal thumb and thumb hypoplasia; Etiological analysis and thumb remodeling for congenital thumb ulnar deviation; Precision treatment of upper-limb deformities in children with cerebral palsy and multiple joint contractures. Her clinical philosophy emphasizes both functional restoration and optimal aesthetic outcomes, significantly improving the quality of life for her young patients.

Dr. Yunlan Xu is a Chief Physician and has completed visiting fellowships at Queen Mary Hospital (Hong Kong), Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital (Hong Kong), and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (USA). She has published more than 20 SCI-indexed papers as first author or corresponding author, with a total impact factor exceeding 40, in addition to over 10 papers in Chinese core journals (including the Zhonghua and China medical journal series). She currently serves as a member of the Hand Surgery Division of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association and a member of the Pediatric Orthopedics Group of the Orthopedic Division of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association.

Dr. Peng Cao has over 30 years of clinical experience in orthopedics, with expertise in the minimally invasive surgical treatment of common spinal degenerative diseases such as cervical and shoulder pain, lumbar and leg pain, spinal injuries, and osteoporosis. He is also skilled in the comprehensive diagnosis and surgical management of complex spinal disorders, including spinal deformities, spinal tumors, and spinal infections.

Dr. Cao is a Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor at Ruijin Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He trained under renowned orthopedic experts, Professor Benfu Chai (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Professor Qingming Yang (Lifetime Professor at Ruijin Hospital). Dr. Cao has had multiple opportunities to study and train at prestigious orthopedic hospitals in Germany, Spain, the United States, and Singapore, focusing on spinal and spinal cord injury or degeneration, particularly in fusion and minimally invasive techniques. He has led multiple national scientific research projects and was selected for the “New Hundred Talents Program” of the Shanghai Health System (also known as the “Outstanding Discipline Leader Program”) and the “Hundred Talents Training Program” of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Dr. Dong Chen has more than 25 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine surgeries, both in Australia and China. He specializes in the accurate diagnosis and comprehensive management of common orthopedic conditions, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgeries, ligament reconstruction surgeries, joint replacement surgeries, orthopedic corrective surgeries across the regions of the musculoskeletal system, trauma surgeries, and the treatment of common pediatric orthopedic conditions. He has accumulated extensive knowledge and expertise across all areas of the specialty.

Dr. Chen graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Ph.D. of Surgery degree and previously obtained a Master of Surgery from Zhejiang University. After receiving his medical registration, he went through Orthopedic Surgery Registrar training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. During this period, Dr. Chen underwent 5 years of comprehensive and systematic specialist training rotations at major hospitals around Sydney and Melbourne, and he achieved first place nationwide in the 2016 Orthopedic In-Training Examination (OITE) in Australia. He later served as an orthopedic surgery specialist in the Hunter New England Local Health District of New South Wales, where he was involved in orthopedic clinical practice and management, and the training of orthopedic registrars and medical students. After returning to China, Dr. Chen participated and lead the establishment and development of the orthopedics and sports medicine department at a couple of well-known private hospitals in Shanghai. In addition, he serves as the reviewer for the internationally renowned 'Biomaterials' and holds an Australian Orthopedic Association (AOA) accredited Hip and Knee Surgery Clinical Fellowship and an Australian Orthopedic Association (AOA) accredited Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Clinical Fellowship.
