Speech & Language Therapy

Speech and language therapy involves the assessment and treatment of speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. 

At Parkway, we use holistic and evidence-based interventions involving patients and families, educators and teachers and other primary caregivers in the therapeutic and educational process. The aim of intervention is to improve functional communication and independence skills.

Our internationally-trained Speech & Language Therapist and Speech-Language Pathologist provides services in the following areas of communication:

  • Acquisition and Development of expressive (speaking) and receptive (understanding)

  • Reading and writing

  • Articulation of speech sounds

  • Sensory or auditory processing disorders

  • Pragmatic and social communication

  • Augmentative and/or alternative communication

  • Voice

  • Fluency

  • Swallowing and feeding

  • Oral motor disorders - e.g., apraxia, dysarthria

  • Cognitive learning disorders - e.g., attention, memory, problem-solving, planning, organization
